Freeport Theatre Festival Announces Its 20th Anniversary Summer Season
A new historical drama by Rennick Steele, Cauldron of Steel, will open Freeport Theatre Festival's 20th Anniversary Season. Cauldron of Steel forges a story of brave immigrants coming to America to work in the new steel mill in Vandergrift, Pennsylvania - a "worker's paradise" conceived and built by George G. McMurtry. Of course, there are obstacles to reaching "paradise" of any kind. Cauldron of Steel reflects the willingness of people to sacrifice everything in search of a better life for their families. Cauldron of Steel is an homage to those immigrants. Their story is inspirational.

The Old World Sounds of Joe Lege, Accordionist, will accompany the Opening Night (July 10) and Closing Night (July 26) performances.
The Allegheny Township Historical Society will host a Pie Social on Saturday, July 25 featuring baked goods prepared by local home bakers.
Our August production will be Agatha Christie's The Mousetrap. The Mousetrap has now been running for 56 years during which time over 23,000 performances have been given. It is quite simply a great piece of theatrical history because of what it is, a whodunit written by the greatest crime writer of all time.
